In the context of intercontinental commerce and the global economy, it is the most efficient, safe and healthy, environmentally friendly form of transportation of goods and connectivity from one corner of the world to another.

The day first began on April 5, 1919, when SS Loyalty, the first ship of The Scindia Steam Navigation Company Limited, traveled from Mumbai to the United Kingdom (London).
