According to the report of the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer is the second largest disease worldwide, due to which most people die.

On the day of Cancer Awareness Day, free cancer screening and treatment is done in government hospitals all over India.

In order to give more emphasis to this campaign, in 1975, a program called National Cancer Control was conducted in India and through this program many conferences are organized from time to time.
